Two former Bantamweight Champions return for a huge fight night event.
At 135-pounds, former UFC Bantamweight and Flyweight Champion Henry Cejudo will make his highly anticipated return to the octagon as the 37-year-old is scheduled to face Song Yadong. Since his return in 2023, Cejudo’s career hasn’t reached the heights that it once had in his first UFC run. Cejudo is currently on a two-fight skid and the former UFC Champion hasn’t won a fight in five years.
While Song Yadong is in a better position, he’s also coming off of a loss to Petr Yan at UFC 299. That loss broke a nice two-fight winning streak that saw the bantamweight get dominant wins over Ricky Simon and Chris Gutierrez.
After a two year absence, Dominick Cruz looks to recapture his glory days with a win over Rob Font. The former UFC Bantamweight Champion is coming off a loss to Marlon Vera on August 13, 2022. Cruz first failed to regain the Bantamweight Championship when he fought Henry Cejudo and Cody Garbandt, but the MMA veteran was starting to find his footing again within the division when he beat Casey Kenney and Pedro Munhoz.
Rob Font comes in with some momentum as he broke a two-fight skid with a unanimous decision win over Kyler Philips at UFC Fight Night 245. Font is looking to get back into the UFC title hunt and beating one of the best Bantamweight Champions is a good start.
