UFC 239 just got a bit bigger, literally. Heavyweight contenders Francis Ngannou and Junior Dos Santos have reportedly agreed to fight at UFC 239 on July 6. According to ESPN sources, both fighters have agreed to the match but have not signed yet.
Junior Dos Santos (21-5), a former heavyweight champion, is
coming off a thrilling win over Derrick Lewis at UFC Wichita earlier this month. The 35-year-old has won his past three fights and is third on the list of most UFC wins in the heavyweight division with 15.
Francis Ngannou (13-3) is coming off his own
impressive win over Cain Velasquez in February. Ngannou needed just 26 seconds to score a TKO victory over Velasquez, who did appear to suffer an injury early on.
In any case, the Dos Santos-Ngannou fight adds a little more thunder to a pay-per-view event that is already headlined with a
UFC light heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Thiago Santos. Also on the card is a
UFC bantamweight title fight featuring champion Amanda Nunes and former champion Holly Holm.
