We officially have new NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champions!

Over the last week, NJPW ran an eight-man tournament to crown new title holders after EVIL, Shingo Takai, and Bushi vacated the prestigious belts.

Teams such as Los Ingobernables De Japon (Shingo Takagi, BUSHI & SANADA), Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, El Desperado & DOUKI), CHAOS (YOSHI-HASHI, Tomohiro Ishii & Hirooki Goto), and BULLET CLUB (Yujiro Takahashi, Jado & Gedo) fought in the competition; however, the finals boiled down to CHAOS vs. SHO, Toru Yano & Kazuchika Okada this past Sunday at the New Japan Summer Struggle event on night eight.

The match-up was a stiff contest between both teams; however, it all came down Tomohiro Ishii and SHO. While one-half of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions gave a valiant effort for his team, Ishii nailed a devastating lariat and then finished him off with a brain buster for the win. This is Goto and YOSHI-HASHI’s first time as champions, with Ishii previously holding the belts with Trent Beretta and Toru Yano.
