Four Titles Changed Hands AT NJPW's DOMINION Pay-Per-View

NJPW’s Dominion has come and gone.

New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s annual pay-per-view highlighted everyone’s favorite faction: The House of Torture. 

Chase Owens betrayed the Bullet Club War Dogs (Taiji Ishimori, Clark Connors & Drilla Moloney) and helped HOUSE OF TORTURE (SANADA, Ren Narita, Yujiro Takahashi & Bad Luck Fale) beat his former faction brothers.

DOUKI (who replaced Yoshinobu Kanemare) and SHO won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team titles from Master Wato & YOH. In classic House of Torture fashion, the match broke down to chaos and the ending saw Douki hit Wato with a steel pipe. Douki applied a submission and tapped as SHO forced YOH to watch in horror. This is the first time that DOUKI has won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team titles whereas this is the sixth title reign for SHO.

That wasn’t the only title that changed hands.

In fact, four new champions were crowned. NEVER Openweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita lost his belt to Boltin Oleg in a hard hitting back and forth match. That ended an incredible 162 day title run.

Taichi & Tomohiro Ishii put a quick end to the United Empire’s (Callum Newman & Great-O-Khan) IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team title run. This is the fourth time that Taichi has won the prestigious belts. For Tomohiro, it’s the second.

Last, but not least, Gabe Kidd put championship gold back around his waist as he beat Yota Tsuji in all out war. This marks the first IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship title run for the brash 28-year-old. 

A good show all in all, though it’s quite risky for New Japan to go all-in on HOUSE OF TORTURE since most fans aren’t happy with the group.
