The World title match has been confirmed.
Last week, New Japan Pro-Wrestling held their resurgence show in the United States and that event had plenty of surprises. However, Resurgence also confirmed that Hirooki Goto would be the man to defend the IWGP World Heavyweight title against Shingo Takagi at Dominion.
Goto has been surprising everyone since winning the world title back in February, but Shingo Takagi is his toughest challenger to date. The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion has beaten Goto in the past, namely for the NEVER Openweight title. Can he do it again on June 15, but for the world title? This will be the sixth title defense for Goto, though giving the controversial double pin against Zack Sabre Jr. at Resurgence, don’t be surprised if he’s added to the match down the line.
Also, the war between the Bullet Club factions has to end. The Bullet Club War Dogs beat House of Torture at Wrestling Dontaku, forcing the former to be recognized as the only form of the Bullet Club. But the war is far from over. EVIL gets a chance at revenge next month as the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion will go one-on-one against the War Dogs leader in a dog collar match. This is sure to be a violent match that’s set to put an end to the faction warfare once and for all.
Last, but not least, The United Empire (Callum Newman & Great-O-Khan) are scheduled to defend their belts for the first time at Dominion as they’ll take on Tomohiro Ishii and Taichi. The newly crowned champs are looking to get some momentum back after losing a couple of matches in recent weeks. Ishii is no stranger to be a tag team champion. With the roll that he’s been on as of late, can he recapture the titles on June 15?
