New Japan Pro Wrestling has confirmed a new tournament.

Earlier this week, the Japanese promotion revealed their new Lion’s Break Crown, which will highlight the new stars of the company. This will be an eight man, single-elimination tournament that starts on September 25.

There doesn’t appear to be a future title match at stake; however, winning the Lion’s Break Crown tournament should end up doing wonders for a newcomer’s career. The scheduled event will host the semi-finals on October 2 and the finals on October 9.

The talents involved have been heavily featured in the NJPW Strong episodes in recent weeks. One of the bigger names competing is Clark Connors, who’s previously fought in the company’s 2019 Super J Cup and was in the finals of last year’s Young Lion’s Cup.

Below are the first round matches for the Lion's Break Crown tournament:

Logan Riegel vs. The DKC

Clark Connors vs. Jordan Clearwater

Danny Limelight vs. Barrett Brown

Adrian Quest vs. Blake Christian
