Thus far, IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Champion Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, EVIL, Hirooki Goto, and Zack Sabre Jr. are in contention for the finals of the B-Block. Juice Robinson, Toru Yano, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and KENTA still have the opportunity to enter into the finals of this year’s competition if they can win their remaining matches.

In a rematch of the 2019 G1 Climax, former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi fought SANADA in the main event, Tetsuya Naito also faced a man that beat him in the 2019 G1 Climax, Toru Yano, and EVIL and Hirooki Goto collided on night sixteen as well.
