The Second Round of the 2020 New Japan Cup tournament begins!
The final day of the opening round saw Los Ingobernables members Evil and Bushi win their respective matches, along with former NEVER Openweight Champion Hirooki Goto and Yoshi-Hashi.
16 men will now fight for the opportunity to challenge Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Intercontinental and Heavyweight titles at Dominion next month, with former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada, former NEVER Openweight Champion Tomohiro Ishii, IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi, and Taiji Ishimori competing today.
In non-tournament match-ups, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi & Ryusuke Taguchi fought Suzuki-Gun (Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr. & Douki) in a six-man tag team bout. Check out the quick results and some video from Day Five of the 2020 New Japan Cup tournament:
