The Opening Round in the 2020 New Japan Cup tournament continues.

The 32-man single elimination tournament officially began yesterday and the first day saw IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi, Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano, and Togi Makabe advance into the next round of the competition.

On Day Two, former IWGP Heavywieght Champion Kazuchika Okada beat his former long-time manager Gedo, Minoru Suzuki lost to Yuji Nagata, former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Taiji Ishimori defeated Gabriel Kidd, and Yoshinobu Kanemaru was victorious over Yuya Uemura.

For Day Three, three champions were in action as IWGP Tag Team Champions Kota Ibushi and Hiroshi Tanahashi, and NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi competed with some surprising end results.

In non-tournament match-ups, Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, El Deparado & Douki) clashed against Yuji Nagata, Gabriel Kidd, Yota Tsuji & Yuya Uemura in a eight-man tag team bout. Check out the quick results and some video from Day Three of the 2020 New Japan Cup tournament:
