Quick Results For Night Eight Of The 2025 NEW JAPAN CUP

This is the last match of the semi-finals round.

These were the four men left in the 2025 New Japan Cup:

• Shingo Takagi 
• Shota Umino
• David Finlay
• Zack Sabre Jr

David Finlay pulled out an amazing win over former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr. This night was a battle between Shingo Takagi and Shota Umino, and these two went at it hard for nearly 25-minutes!

The match started off as a feeling out process; however, Umino started targeting Shingo’s knee and worked on that for the next few minutes. Shingo was able to come back with a DDT and clothesline, but a fisherman suplex and STF reversal put Takagi back on the ground.

Shingo and Umino continued their back-and-forth dance with suplexes and clotheslines. But a standing powerbomb almost put Takagi out of commission. Both men were gassed and weak around the 20-minute mark, but Shingo managed to get enough strength to hit Made In Japan for a strong nearfall. When that didn’t seal the deal, he hit a powerbomb and his signature Pumping Bomber. That also resulted in another nearfall.

But a devastating clothesline changed the dynamic of the match and allowed Umino to connect with the Snow Plow Driver for the three count. This means it will be David Finlay vs. Shota Umino in the 2025 New Japan Cup finals on March 20th!
