For nearly 25-minutes, Konosuke Takeshita and Shingo Takagi tore the house down, which should be no surprise to anyone. This is actually a Wrestle Kingdom 19 rematch, so the early portion of the bout was filled with counters and reversals since these men know each other so well.

But by the two minute mark, Takeshita and Takagi were trying to knock each other out with forearm strikes. The waves of momentum shifted back and forth for the next couple of minutes: Takeshita got a decent fall after a flying senton, but Takagi came back with some jabs and a DDT. However, it was the Death Valley Driver onto the mat at ringside that really turned the tide in favor of Shingo.

Shingo worked on Takeshita’s neck, hitting German suplexes and clotheslines that could’ve knocked his head clean off. Takeshita had short bursts of momentum, but Takagi kept regaining control until a spinning Tombstone Piledriver kept Takagi grounded. Once Takeshita finally got the cover, it only resulted in a two count.

Then Shingo hit a twisting neckbreaker. Takeshita quickly came back with a brain buster. Both men were down. A german suplex allowed Shingo to hit the Pumping Bomber. That only got a two count. He hit another Death Valley Driver for a nail biting nearfall. Out of nowhere, Takeshita hit the Raging Fire (Spinning Falcon Arrow), but Shingo rolled out of the ring to avoid being pinned.

Both men traded finishers. Takeshita hit Shingo with his own move, Made in Japan. Shingo returned the favor and hit a spinning Tombstone Piledreiver. In the end, Takeshita snapped Shingo’s head and got him locked into a crossface chickenwing. Shingo passed out and the referee called for the bell.
