It’s officially down to the final two.

Several weeks ago, New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced an eight-man tournament to determine the next challenger for Jon Moxley’s IWGP United States Championship. Starting out, Karl Fredericks, KENTA, Jeff Cobb, Tanga Loa, David Finlay, Chase Owens, Brody King, and Tama Tonga were all chosen to compete in the respective competition.

The tournament then boiled down to four men as David Finlay vs. Tama Tonga and KENTA vs. Jeff Cobb were the semi-final matches. Following the latest NJPW Strong Episode, KENTA and David Finlay have won their semi-final matches and will meet on this week’s episode of NJPW Strong.

In addition to the big finals bout, former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Jay White will make his return to NJPW. White hasn’t competed in New Japan since February in an eight-man tag team match. White, along with his BULLET CLUB members Bad Luck Fale, Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa beat FinJuice (David Finlay & Juice Robinson) & Great Bash Heel (Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma).
