The new King of Pro Wrestling is Toru Yano!

Last month, New Japan Pro-Wrestling created a new concept title called the King of Pro Wrestling 2020 Championship. Eight men fought for the innovative title and the winner was officially crowned at the Summer Struggle show this past weekend.

The KOPW 2020 title will not have a physical belt; however, the reign will last for one year and at the end of it, the champion will receive a trophy and there will be a new tournament to crown a different champion. Fans will get to choose every match stipulation for the respective bouts involving the KOPW Champion.

Yano actually got the advantage on all three men in the early goings thanks to his usual antics; however, El Desperado put an end to that swiftly. Both CHAOS members (Okada and Yano) helped each other out during the four-way contest, but SANADA and Desperado got their moments to shine, notably with Desperado hitting a frog splash on both SANADA and Okada at the same time.

In the end, a sneaky Yano rolled up Okada after a low blow to become the inaugural KOPW Champion!
