WWE made it a point to specifically say that the "transfer window" was going to close with the Royal Rumble, yet just a few days later, that is already null and void with two more WWE Superstars being traded over to the SmackDown roster.

On tonight's episode of Friday Night SmackDown, there was a backstage segment that saw SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis talking to Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. It wasn't a particularly warm welcome for them, as most of their audio was inaudible (likely from the production team not switching over to that audio channel in time). Just enough was able to be inferred that they're part of the blue brand going forward, but within less than 5 seconds, they were being booted out of the office in favor of Carmelo Hayes talking to Aldis about wanting a spot in the Elimination Chamber.

That then set up a match for later on in the night where Raw General Manager Adam Pearce had requested that Akira Tozawa come over to SmackDown seemingly for a one-off match against Hayes in order to get some retribution for how Hayes had attacked him during his entrance at the Royal Rumble, which resulted in Tozawa being pulled from the match and replaced by IShowSpeed. It does not appear that Tozawa is part of the SmackDown roster in any kind of a trade.

To further illustrate how poorly this was handled for the former women's tag team champions, WWE's coverage of this segment on X completely bypasses their section of that segment, starting off at the moment where Chance and Carter had already walked off-screen.

As of this publication, WWE still hasn't put up any other kind of alternative post to call attention to Carter and Chance in any fashion, so if you blinked, you missed this "announcement" (if you can even call it that).

Hopefully, this is not a sign of things to come for KC and KC being on the SmackDown roster.

For those curious, the full breakdown of trades that have been made during this transfer window period currently stands at:

  1. Logan Paul was the first to be announced to go to the Raw roster
  2. The Wyatt Sicks were sent over to SmackDown
  3. Bayley is now part of the Raw roster
  4. The Miz was sent to SmackDown
  5. Damian Priest was sent to SmackDown
  6. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller were sent to Raw
  7. Zelina Vega was sent to SmackDown
  8. AJ Styles traded to Raw
  9. Drew McIntyre traded to SmackDown
  10. Katana Chance and Kayden Carter traded to SmackDown
  11. Not Confirmed: Braun Strowman to SmackDown
  12. Not Confirmed: Nia Jax to Raw

What do you think of Katana Chance and Kayden Carter moving over to SmackDown and how this was handled? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
