Today's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw set up a few title matches for events to come, including next week's edition of Raw (going down January 19, 2026 at the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland) as well as the next WWE Saturday Night's Main Event special (taking place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada)
On this show, Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky kicked things off with an in-ring promo to speak about how they had beaten The Kabuki Warriors last week to win the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship—titles which they're going to be fighting champions willing to defend against whoever wants to step up and challenge them.
This resulted in Asuka and Kairi Sane going on the attack after both The Judgment Day's Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez, as well as Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, had came out to try to opt in for a title opportunity, setting up a Triple Threat match to determine the new No. 1 contenders.
Morgan and Perez ultimately won that match, and it was announced they would be getting their title shot at Saturday Night's Main Event.
At another point in the show, Morgan gave Finn Balor a wake-up call, as he was backstage playing video games instead of doing anything to try to get The Judgment Day back in control of Raw the way that she and Perez were doing, as well as how Raquel Rodriguez has been going after Stephanie Vaquer (Note: Rodriguez attacked the women's world champion again this week after Vaquer came out to try to prove that she couldn't be stopped, so...)
Because of this, Balor was motivated to interrupt a promo CM Punk was cutting, also asking for a new challenger. Punk was willing to put his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Balor tonight, only for Balor to back out and say he wants to have that next week, instead.
Speaking of Irish WWE Superstars, Becky Lynch will have to defend the Women's Intercontinental Championship against Maxxine Dupri in another rematch.
Dupri also gave a pep talk to Otis and Akira Tozawa about how they should be going after the World Tag Team Championship. They then spoke to Jey Uso about a title opportunity, to which Jey said he'd talk to Jimmy about, but that match has not yet been advertised as official for next week.
