What is the next step for Kevin Owens?
The former WWE Universal Champion failed in his quest to win the Undisputed Championship. However, Owens does have a visual pinfall victory over Cody Rhodes. The Smackdown star felt screwed over on Saturday Night’s Main Event and did what he thought was fair. Unfortunately for Cody Rhodes, that meant putting “The American Nightmare” out of commission indefinitely.
Owens is now walking around the WWE locker room as the Undisputed WWE Champion. He’s even promised to defend the belt. What will Kevin Owens say on his first night back on the Blue brand? And will Triple H get involved with the situation after their brief confrontation?
For The WWE Women’s Tag Team titles, Naomi will step in to help Bianca Belair take on Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. The WWE Women’s Champion is no stranger to being a Tag Team Champion; in fact, Nia Jax has won those belts on two separate occasions. Can she add another title around her waist? Or will Naomi and Bianca successfully fend off their challengers?
The new U.S. Women's Champion is Chelsea Green! The WWE star has really turned her career around in 2024 and hopes to carry the lineage and prestige that the men's belt had for decades. What will Chelsea Green do on her first night as U.S. Champion?
In two weeks time, Solo Sikoa and Roman Reigns will fight in a Tribal Combat match on January 6th. Meanwhile, The Bloodline has been keeping themselves preoccurpied with LA Knight and Andrade. Will the powerful faction continue to run roughshot on the Smackdown roster? Or will the former United States Champions gain some measure of revenge?
Also, Braun Strowman made his remarkable return last week by squashing Carmelo Hayes. The former WWE Universal Champion is scheduled to be a guest on The Grayson Waller Effect.
All this and more is scheduled for tonight’s episode of Smackdown. Check out the advertised matches below:
