Alexa Bliss made her long-awaited return to WWE at the Royal Rumble, and after disappearing from our screens again for a short time, she's now formed a partnership with Charlotte Flair (they first teamed up during last Friday's episode of SmackDown),
Many fans remain eager to see her interact with The Wyatt Sicks. However, with Nikki Cross already part of the faction, WWE may have decided against heading in that direction with the former Women's Champion.
WWE Hall of Famers Nikki and Brie Bella recently had Bliss on their show and learned just how last-minute her WWE return was when it played out this past January.
"I got the call at like, midnight the night before," she revealed. "It wasn’t fully decided until like 4am and I get a call at five. They’re like, 'Alright, we need you on a plane by 10am.'"
"I’m in my house at 3am trying not to wake up the baby, because my gear is in, like, next to her closet," Bliss continued. "And I’m like, looking through old gear, being like, 'Alright, what could still fit me?' No one knew I was there, not even, you know, the girls didn’t know I was there until I was in gorilla. No one. No one knew."
WWE typically goes to great lengths to avoid a big return being spoiled in advance, meaning Bliss was flown into a different city and arrived at the arena just two hours before showtime feeling understandably "deliriously tired."
"That was one of those ones where I just kind of actually took in the moment," Bliss said of her return, which led to one of the biggest crowd reactions of the night. "A lot of times when I’m doing my entrance, I’m still thinking about what’s coming next. I’m not able to enjoy the moment. And that was one of those ones where I just kind of actually took in the moment. And I was like, ‘Wow, this is, this is pretty cool.'"
We'll have to wait and see what becomes of Bliss' alliance with Flair, as they'll challenge for the Women's Tag Team Championships at the upcoming Evolution 2 PLE. It feels like their team-up will be short-lived, but if they strike a chord with fans, then the tag team division might have added its most formidable new pairing.
