As the host of this year's WrestleMania, John Cena made his way to the ring to announce the Saturday attendance numbers, declaring that there were 50,816 fans in attendance. However, he was quickly interrupted by Bianca Belair, making her way to the ring in an extravagant blue outfit.
Belair spoke for a moment about how you can't have WrestleMania without some surprises, before opening up her outfit to reveal her stomach, announcing that she and her husband, Montez Ford, are having a baby. Cena lovingly joked afterward that that meant the attendance number was actually 50,817, with "the youngest WWE Superstar" now also being counted.
Belair has been out of action for the past year, suffering a hand injury during her match at WrestleMania 41 against Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky that has put her on the shelf for the past 12 months. Every time it appears there could be some good news about her recovery and a potential return, time just continues to pass by with no more positive updates. So while she still had her finger taped up—likely indicating that she is still rehabbing that injury—she will obviously be out for a considerable more time on pregnancy leave.
While it's obviously not the "I'm back" announcement that fans would have been hoping to hear upon her return, stepping aside from the ring for this reason is a moment to rejoice over as Belair joins the club of mothers on the roster, including Naomi, who recently gave birth to her and Jimmy Uso's child after vacating the Women's World Championship last year.
It will be interesting to see if this has changed any plans regarding Jade Cargill's title reign and her defense against Rhea Ripley on tomorrow's portion of WWE WrestleMania 42. In the meantime, congratulations to both Bianca Belair and Montez Ford over their new addition to their family!
