Bo Dallas’ run is for his brother.

Tragically, the world lost one of the most creative minds in professional wrestling in 2023. Bray Wyatt was loved by people in and outside of the wrestling business. The former WWE Champion left an incredible mark throughout his time in the company. As you can imagine, Bo Dallas had pretty big shoes to fill when taking over the Uncle Howdy character.

Before Bo Dallas made his return, the former NXT Champion was never really given much of a chance to prove himself on the main roster. Bo Dallas had a lengthy stint as NXT Champion, but once he went to Smackdown, he was mostly treated as a lower card act. His role continued mainly in comedy gimmicks, with the most notable being that he was apart of the Miztourage.

Coming back and playing a gimmick as dark as Bray Wyatt’s is no easy task. But Bo Dallas has managed to exceed expectations. It wasn’t easy for Bo to step into his brother’s shoes, but the WWE star knew that he had to do this for the former WWE Champion.

“I knew I had to do this for my brother and for myself.” Bo Dallas said on Dead Meat Presents. “But at that point, I was still working through things. And I still am. I didn’t know how I was going to handle it that night. I had been wrestling for almost 15 years at that point, and I’d done a lot, but I didn’t know if I could handle the moment—going out live and feeling everything.”

“The night before that shot, I’m standing in the hallway, the lights start coming on, and you hear that one note—Dun. I didn’t know how I was going to react. And I swear to you, I felt like my brother was with me. I went from thinking, ‘Can I do this?’ to feeling more confident, more powerful, and more sure than I’ve ever felt in my life. I knew I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing.”

“Then, to walk out and see the arena filled, with the lights and the fireflies—it’s been more than cathartic. It’s helped me in so many ways.” Added Bo Dallas.
