Bobby Fish is currently sidelined by a major injury that going to keep him out of action for a while.
The former AEW star just revealed on his Youtube Channel that he’s been sidelined with a pulled hamstring. Unfortunately for Bobby, he also doesn’t have any health insurance. The video has Fish detailing the injury in itself.
However, the 48-year-old isn't just dealing with injury problems as Fish has some personal issues that he’s also going through. It’s certainly a difficult situation for the former AEW here’s wishing him the best in his personal and professional life.
So what has Bobby Fish been doing as of late?
Bobby Fish was one of the cornerstones of Ring of Honor. Though he was never a world champion, Fish was in a popular team with Kyle O’Reilly known as Red Dragon. Him and O'Reilly were considered one of the best tag teams in the world and duo got a chance to showcase their skills in WWE when they were signed in 2017.
Most fans know Fish from his NXT days where him, O’Reilly, Adam Cole, and Roderick Strong was a big part of the black and gold days of the developmental brand. Known as The Undisputed Era, the faction dominated NXT for a good period of time, though injuries often held back Fish in his WWE career. He was released in 2021, but he quickly rebounded by joining AEW.
He reunited with Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly, but Fish didn’t last long in the promotion as he was there for a full year before his contract expired. According to Bobby himself, him and Tony Khan just couldn't come up with a number and he opted to leave the promotion. Bobby has been working the indie scene ever since, but his main home has been Major League Wrestling. The former AEW star did talk about signing with MLW to Chris Van Vliet a few years back.
“The opportunity presented itself and it made more sense the more we talked about it. Having this opportunity caters to my style and there were some interesting matchups ready if I looked at them on the surface. It just made sense.”
His last match in MLW was back in June as he fought Satoshi Kojima in the first round of the 2025 Opera Cup. At the moment, it’s unknown how long Bobby will be out of commission, but hopefully, he’s able to sort everything out personally and professionally.
