Fans have wanted to see Brock Lesnar and Kevin Owens clash for quite some time now, and during tonight's WWE live event at Madison Square Garden, both men finally faced off in what would ultimately be a very quick match. By all accounts, The Beast Incarnate ran over KO in just 3 minutes and pinned the former Universal Champ with a devastating F-5. However, Owens did get some offense in, hitting his opponent with his corner cannonball and a top-rope senton.
Though these type of events don't tend to influence TV storylines or feuds to any great degree, it's still a little disheartening to see the man who was Universal Champion literally a week ago dispatched so quickly - even by the likes of Lesnar. Hopefully, this isn't a sign that WWE plans to drop KO down to mid card status, as he'd only just regained his groove as a vicious, imposing heel after his recent treatment of former "best friend", Chris Jericho.
Other matches on the card included Dean Ambrose regaining the IC title in a fatal four-way against baron Corbin, The Miz, and Luke Harper, Randy Orton beating AJ Style with an RKO, and Bray Wyatt pinning John Cena in the main event.
