Brock Lesnar Reportedly "Didn't Want" To Wrestle Shane McMahon At WRESTLEMANIA
Brock Lesnar will battle Goldberg for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania but original plans called for him to take on Shane McMahon. Here's why that match never ended up taking place...
Following Randy Orton's loss to Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam via TKO, SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon was on the receiving end of an F5 after confronting The Beast Incarnate. Rumours of a match between the two at this year's WrestleMania quickly started doing the rounds, but it quickly became apparent that it wouldn't be happening.
Much of that came down to the unexpected return of Goldberg at Survivor Series, a match which quickly turned into an ongoing rivalry which will culminate in Orlando next month.
However, according to Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, that match would never have happened anyway. Why? It's quite simple, though somewhat surprising considering the fact many fans believe Lesnar will face anyone providing he's paid handsomely by the company!
Apparently, Lesnar "certainly didn't want" to face McMahon, and while the reason why he felt that way hasn't been revealed, we now know it was never going to take place anyway.
