Brock Lesnar's WRESTLEMANIA 42 Opponent May Have Been Revealed - SPOILERS

During last Saturday's Men's Royal Rumble match, WWE repeatedly teased a clash between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi. Ultimately, The Beast eliminated the former NXT star and was sent over the top rope himself by Cody Rhodes and LA Knight.

Now, we have some backstage news on whether Lesnar vs. Femi is being planned for WrestleMania 42. Despite it looking like an obvious creative direction for both wrestlers, according to Dave Meltzer, the potential showdown is not "100%" confirmed for the Show of Shows in Las Vegas this April.

"That’s not 100% by the way," he said. "It could happen. I’m not saying it’s not happening. I’m just saying that I was told this one’s not 100%, and that was the Lesnar and Oba Femi match."

There's a lot in flux in WWE on the Road to WrestleMania, something that's evident from the company switching from Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns to World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns.

"Of course [I've thought of a match with Lesnar]," Femi said last December. "Definitely. Especially when I believe in myself, and I believe I'm good enough to be there. Like, right now, I'm good enough to be on the main roster. Period. Like, there's no question about that."

"But I've been patient, you know, I've done what's been put in front of me because sometimes when you think about what's at the end of the tunnel, you somehow get lost in the sauce and you stop figuring out how to navigate your current situation. So I've tried my best to stay on course the best I can."

"But yeah, I definitely do think about those dream matches. I think about Oba Femi versus Drew [McIntyre], Oba Femi versus Randy [Orton]. I've thought about Oba Femi versus Cody Rhodes, which is actually happening now," he continued. "But I've thought about these matches for a very long time, but I've also tried my best to stay on course."

If not Femi, then Lesnar vs. Knight could be an interesting match for WrestleMania. Either way, The Beast is still expected to retire at SummerSlam this year, with the prevailing opinion being that Gunther will be the one to take slay him.

As always, stay tuned for updates as we have them.
