Chris Jericho Returns To The Ring To Take On Hideo Itami At A WWE Live Event In Singapore
We didn't think we'd be seeing Chris Jericho so soon after he appeared to take a hiatus from The WWE recently, but Y2J returned to the ring for a live event in Singapore last night. More past the jump...
Fans expected Chris Jericho to be out of the picture for a while after Kevin Owens left him badly injured (kayfabe) following their last encounter. Rumor had it that Y2J would be concentrating on touring with his band, Fozzy, and while that may still be the case, the mega-popular Superstar is evidently making time for the occasional WWE appearance.
Jericho battled Hideo Itami during a live show in Singapore last night, and although he came up on the losing end after a GTS, reports indicate that he had a very good match.
Here is a breakdown of the full card courtesy of PWmania.com, who also have a brief video of that Go-To-Sleep:
– Hideo def Jericho via pinfall after a GTS.
– Titus def Bo Dallas via Pinfall.
– Shesaro def Rhyno and Slater after a Brogue kick. Still RAW tag champs.
– Segment reenacting RAW’s Enzo and Cass angle. Cass apologises and then kicks Enzo.
– Miz/Joe vs Ambrose/Rollins. Crowd chants KFC after Rollins called Miz a chicken. Dean pins Miz after Dirty Deeds.
– Nia/Emma/Alexa vs Bayley/Sasha/Asuka. Huge pop for Bliss and Banks. Asuka summits Emma with Asuka Lock.
– Balor vs Karl Anderson w/ Gallows. Balor beats Anderson w/ Coup De Grace. pretty fast match. Balor got a huge pop.
– Main event time. Reigns vs Wyatt. REIGNS GOT HUGE HEAT. Crowd chanting for taker and strowman. Reigns beats Wyatt with a spear. Crowd seems split on the outcome.
This probably doesn't mean we're going to be seeing Jericho adding fools to his list any time soon on WWE TV, but it's nice to know that he hasn't strayed too far from the company.
