World Wrestling Entertainment's next premium live event on the calendar is set to be WWE Night of Champions, which goes down June 28, 2025 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and we now know what the main event of that pay-per-view will be.
On tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, John Cena opened the show with a promo trashing the fans, upset over R-Truth costing him his tag team match alongside Logan Paul against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso that went down this past Saturday at WWE Money in the Bank. Cena was then counting down how many dates he has left scheduled for his appearances this year (19 remaining), reminding the fans that time is running out before he takes the Undisputed WWE Championship home with him and ruins professional wrestling forever.
CM Punk decided to come out an interrupt, pointing out all the hypocrisy with Cena's new attitude, how he said "I'm sorry" when locking in the SFT on Punk at Elimination Chamber because he knows what he's doing is wrong, and how sooner or later, they're going to face each other for the title, so Cena might as well pick when that happens. Punk's suggestion was for them to lock horns tonight in Phoenix, Arizona, but in typical heel fashion, Cena agreed...just for another night.
Cena said that if Punk wants a match for the title, he's going to have to follow him to Saudi Arabia and fight him at Night of Champions—something that Punk has been critical of in the past to the point that he told The Miz to "go suck a blood money covered d*ck in Saudi Arabia" several years ago. For whatever reason—a big enough pay day, a change in heart, or just following the company's orders—Punk is heading to Saudi Arabia for this match.
This is the only official match for the lineup so far, though we know that Night of Champions will also feature the finals of the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments taking place over the coming episodes of Raw and SmackDown. Tonight, Roxanne Perez and Sami Zayn advanced to the semi-finals and took one step closer to possibly competing at Night of Champions.
