Finally, after several months of teasing this storyline, it has been revealed what favor CM Punk is cashing in for Paul Heyman.

Going back, when Roman Reigns was down a member for a team to battle it out inside the WarGames cage at WWE Survivor Series 2024 against the new version of The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Jacob Fatu) and Bronson Reed, only having The Usos and Sami Zayn with him, and Seth Rollins refusing to do the job, Paul Heyman reached out to CM Punk and asked him to help out. Punk reciprocated, but said that he was now owed a favor.

Seth Rollins, who has been on a quest to not only take down CM Punk, but to make sure that he doesn't get to fulfill his dream of being in the main event of WrestleMania one day, was upset to hear from Heyman that that wish would come true, when it was announced this Triple Threat will headline the show on Saturday, April 19th. Roman Reigns claimed to be the reason why that's happening, and Punk did thank him, but said that that didn't count as the favor.

On tonight's episode of SmackDown, it was revealed that Punk wants Heyman to be in his corner, ringside cheering him on and supporting him at WrestleMania, rather than accompanying Reigns, as would be expected.

This took Reigns aback and he laughed it off, scoffing that Heyman would refuse if he even let him do that, and that he's his Wise Man, only for Heyman to have to reveal that earlier, he had already promised Punk and said yes.

As a result, the more bitter side of Punk vs. Rollins that has been on one side of this feud, along with the decade-plus long animosity between Reigns and Rollins, now has something to really drive a wedge between Punk and Reigns to balance out the equation.

What does this mean for the future of the relationship between Heyman and his Tribal Chief? Could we see Heyman and Punk formally reform their alliance and stick together for a while? Is this even going to influence the result of the match, with Heyman making sure Punk also wins the main event of WrestleMania because they're best friends?
