Not everyone was thrilled with Goldberg defeating Kevin Owens in a mere 21 seconds this past Sunday at Fastlane, but Vince McMahon wanted to make his match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania as huge as possible, hence why the Universal Championship has now been thrown into the mix to make the main event as compelling as possible.
Well, love it or hate it, Goldberg's reign is clearly off to a good start. Last night's episode of RAW drew an average of 3.216 million viewers, an increase from last week's 3.093 million.
The first hour drew 3.318 million viewers, the second hour drew 3.380 million viewers, and the final hour drew 2.950 million viewers. Not all of that can be credited to Goldberg of course, especially with so much Fastlane fallout (such as what's next for Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens) and rumours of returns for both Finn Balor and The Undertaker.
RAW was #2 on cable for the night in viewership and it should be interesting to see how it does over the next few weeks as we get closer and closer to WrestleMania in Orlando next month.
