Is Dominik Mysterio begging for a fight?
There’s been rumors on who could be the final men facing the former WWE Undisputed Champion in the coming weeks. One of the names that popped up is Mr. Mysterio himself, Dominik, who John mentioned during his promo against Logan Paul a couple of months ago.
Dominik Mysterio has one thing that John Cena never won - the Intercontinental Championship. Throughout Cena’s illustrious career, he’s won the U.S. title, nearly every version of the WWE and World titles, and Cena’s even won the Tag Team titles on two different occasions.
However, the Intercontinental Championship has never been held by the multi-time world champion. Dominik was questioned on the possibility that Cena might come after the I.C. title and he had a few choice words for Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect.
“At the end of the day, I’m here. If John Cena wants some, he can come get some. He’s got four dates left, you said? If that old geezer wants me to put a final nail in his coffin, I’ll be more than happy to. That’s what I’m here for. I’m here to be and stay your dirty double champ.”
Will John take Dominik up on that offer?
Only time will tell. Though it would be surprising if John never got the chance to scrap with Dominik at some point. Granted, there’s only four dates left for John at this point and it’s possible that WWE may use those dates to build to the final match (which could be Dominik Mysterio), but having him go after a belt that’s never won is a tempting match-up that would surely boost Dominik’s credibility.
Dominik just finished his feud with AJ Styles, who seems to be moving over to the tag team division for the time being. He also beat Penta on RAW. Rusev is in clear line for the Intercontinental Championship and there is a strong possibility that he could take the belt away from Dirty Dom. Plus, Rusev does have history with John Cena, so it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to see Rusev vs. John Cena in the future.
