During last night's episode of RAW, it was revealed that Drew McIntyre is next in line to challenge Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This obviously brings an end to the champion's feud with Shinsuke Nakamura following their "Last Man Standing" match at Fastlane.
Rollins hit the ring to talk about his win over the King of Strong Style, only for McIntyre to quickly head down to the ring. He made his interest in the title known and the match was later confirmed for next month's Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia.
It's long looked like a heel turn is in the works for the Scottish Superstar, so this feud with Rollins could be what leads to him finally breaking bad. Before that, though, he foiled Damian Priest's attempted cash-in, so it's clearly the Visionary he wants at Crown Jewel.
RAW also featured a big title match when new Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso put their titles on the line against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. It was a thrilling bout which saw the new champs retain their titles after using the same Cody Cutter/1D combo they used to win them.
After the match, the babyfaces all shook hands, potentially setting the stage for them to unite in a WarGames match at next month's Survivor Series!
WWE storytelling is definitely at its best right now and it feels like the company is on something of a hot streak. There are concerns that Rhodes has been sidelined when it comes to his quest for the WWE Championship but we're hoping that big win is being saved for WrestleMania next year.
