Elayna Black "Kills Off" Her WWE NXT Cora Jade Character In A Must-See New Video Package

Elayna Black, formerly known as Cora Jade in NXT, has killed off her WWE persona with an impressive new vignette that ushers in what looks to be an exciting stint as a professional wrestler on the indies.

Despite being one of the most popular women on the NXT roster, Cora Jade was among those released by WWE last month in the company's latest wave of cuts.

She's wasted no time reinventing herself, though, and has booked several independent dates and even launched an account on a certain adult website. Now, Jade has signalled the end of her previous pro wrestling character by symbolically killing her off in an impressive vignette shared on social media.

Enter, Elayna Black.

The promo features imagery of her signature skateboard being broken, along with various pieces of memorabilia associated with her WWE gimmick being destroyed. It concludes with the message. "The Generation of Jade is dead."

During a recent interview, Black admitted that she "kind of had a feeling" her release was coming since last November. The former NXT Superstar added that she was told her release was "a company decision."

"I’m really excited to go and, like, do all the things that I haven’t been able to do in the past four years with the platform that I have now. I just wanted to get right back on it, like I don’t have time to waste."

Black also said that, while she's open to working in TNA, the company's relationship with WWE means that it isn't a priority right now because she wants to "step away from all of that for that world for a second."

However, AEW is a promotion she's keen to potentially be part of. "I would definitely be open to an AEW. I loved my time there [doing Dark matches before WWE]. I have a lot of friends there. I watch all the shows. I love the fact that they have as much creative freedom as they do. My 30 days was just yesterday, so not yet [talked to them], but you never know."

Black added, "I just know that wherever I do end up, I want to make sure that it’s better than what I was before, and use this time to really blow up and make people be like, oh sh*t. Like, this is the better version of Elayna Black than we’ve ever seen."

This vignette is a great way to reintroduce herself to the world, and it wouldn't be overly surprising if "Cora Jade" eventually finds her way back into a WWE ring. For now, her priorities appear to lie elsewhere.
