Apparently, Samantha Irvin has a two year non-compete clause.

In the midst of Andrade’s potential one year non-compete clause that’s still ongoing, former WWE superstar Samantha Irvin is apparently in the same boat. The 36-year-old just revealed on her social media that she has a two year non-compete clause.

“One year down, one year left on my non-compete! Can’t wait I hope you enjoy my songs in the meantime and look back on all the memories as fondly as I do! Love & miss you all and remember- I NEVER left FOR music, I am music. Hope to see you soon…..,” she wrote on social media.

It was reported back in January that Irvin did indeed have a non-compete clause, though it wasn’t confirmed how long it was. Though two years sounds egregious, Samantha doesn’t seem to be complaining on her end as she’s making moves outside of the wrestling bubble.

Irvin was the voice for WWE in 2023/2024 where she slowly became a fan favorite due to her unique entrance style and her clear enjoyment of the product itself. But Irvin opted to leave WWE in late October because she wasn’t happy being saddled with just being a ring announcer. Irvin wanted an opportunity to challenge herself and she didn’t feel that WWE was going to give her one.

"I don't really say much about it but I just wanted to have an opportunity to challenge if maybe it wasn't just the ring announcing people loved.” she said on Busted Open. "I just wanted an opportunity to challenge that notion. Give me a chance to see if it's just Samantha," Irvin would say. "Let me be in a backstage (role), let me speak. I never spoke, not one time, except when I said, 'Thank you, Lilian [Garcia],' when she hugged me, but I've never said a free word."

However, Irvin stated during the interview that she wasn’t done with professional wrestling.

"I'm not done with wrestling at all and I now have realized that I will need to have an opportunity where I can make something, I have to be able to make something,' Irvin commented. "If there is some work that needs to be done, if there's something that I think needs to be improved and if there's a way that I can contribute, I'mma finagle my way back in there when the time is right, wherever that will be."

There’s the popular theory that Irvin may end up in AEW with her husband Ricochet. There are reports that she’s been backstage at various AEW shows, though that’s been due to supporting her husband. It should be interesting to see what the future holds for Samantha Irvin. It’s just a shame that we need to wait another year to find out.
