The last time we saw Carmella in a WWE ring was when the former SmackDown Women's Champion Carmella faced Bianca Belair during a March 2023 episode of RAW. She initially took time off for her pregnancy, but remained sidelined due to complications from giving birth.
That included two herniated discs in her back, as well as issues in her foot, which were directly related to that problem. It's a condition commonly known as "Drop Foot," and sometimes occurs when a woman gives birth.
Carmella has since lashed out at WWE on multiple occasions, despite the fact that her husband, Corey Graves, still works there as a commentator.
Following the birth of their second child, Bram Julian Polinsky, earlier this month, Carmella took to Instagram to weigh in on Graves having to return to his commentary duties just days after the child was born.
"His paternity leave started a week early, and since Bram was past his due date, by the time he was born, Matt had to go back to work," she explained. "He had to go back like five days after we came home from the hospital, which sucks."
The former WWE Superstar went on to say that she feels WWE should have offered Graves a little more flexibility with his time off in the days that followed the birth of their son.
"I guess I’d rather have him leave a little early postpartum than have him miss the birth of his child. So we had to compromise," Carmella stated. "I still think he should have way more time off than just five days after the baby’s born. That’s crazy, but you gotta do what you gotta do."
We don't know whether Carmella will ever return to the ring, but a WWE comeback is probably off the table. "It just feels like a sh***y way to end a twelve-year career with the company," she said earlier this year. "Like, this is how it ended. I got a call saying that my contract was up in ten days...ghosted. Ghosted, completely ghosted."
"What if this is the end of my career? Like, what am I doing with my life? What do I have to offer? Why wasn’t I given an opportunity somewhere else. I feel like I’m being punished because I had a baby," Carmella added. "Why would you want to be somewhere that doesn’t want you? I wish more for women in general and moms and especially athletes. I feel like you shouldn’t have to choose one."
