Scarlett Bordeaux made a huge impact on the independent scene and in IMPACT Wrestling before signing with WWE. It didn't take long for her to be paired with then-fiancé Karrion Kross in NXT, and the partnership they formed on screen made them the brand's most formidable duo.
However, when Kross was brought to the main roster by Vince McMahon, Scarlett wasn't by his side, and he was put in some ridiculous red gladiator gear. Needless to say, the gimmick flopped.
They were both released in 2021 before being brought back to WWE the following year by Triple H. What followed was a version of Kross and Scarlett that felt more in line with what we'd seen in NXT. Unfortunately, stop-and-start creative meant they never quite managed to recapture their past success, and the main event scene alluded them both.
Scarlett didn't wrestle at all during their second WWE run, but after they failed to come to terms with WWE on a new deal, she and Kross left WWE again earlier this year (which came as a genuine surprise, especially with fans finally starting to get behind them).
Now, they're returning to the independents, and Scarlett will be doing so with a new look! Yes, after a lengthy stint as a brunette, the blonde bombshell Smokeshow is back...
"My time in WWE has been an incredible ride, and I can truly say it’s been the best locker room I’ve ever been part of," Scarlett said in August. "These people aren’t just coworkers, they’re family. I love you all, and I’ll deeply miss seeing you every week."
"To the fans, you’ve never just been a crowd. You’ve been our partners in every fight and the reason we give everything for this. From the bottom of my heart, thank you."
The next chapter starts now, and I’m ready to bring something unforgettable to any stage, anywhere in the world," she added. "If you want The Smokeshow on your show...let’s make it happen."
