I don’t think Grayson Waller likes Lucha Libre wrestlers.
The 35-year-old has had some issues with Penta in the past several weeks and Waller’s hatred towards Penta and Lucha Libre wrestlers exploded on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast (transcript courtesy of ringsidenews).
“All these lucha guys like are starting to make me sick. You know, they all wear these big outfits because they can’t be bothered going to the gym and getting in shape. You know, they get a puppet on their hands so you don’t look at the fact they don’t have any abs.”
And then Waller called them furries. Actually, it’s out-of-shape furries.
“It’s just all these out-of-shape blokes wearing like… they all kind of look like furries. They’re all wearing these weird masks and stuff pretending to do flips off the rope.”
Waller didn’t catch his breath as he feels that Lucha wrestling is terrible and that him and The New Day are here to save wrestling from Lucha.
“I think Lucha wrestling’s terrible. And I hate that we’re stuck in this thing with Pentar, but he’s a very dangerous man. As The New Day, we’re here to save wrestling. We’re here to save wrestling from the Destroyer. We’re here to save wrestling from Lucha.
So for the next few weeks, this is what we’re focused on. We’re going to get rid of Destroyer and hopefully get rid of Lucha wrestling as well… ’cause I’m sick of it.”
Well, The New Day has a chance to put this plan into action as Kofi and Xavier will fight Psycho Clown and Pagano for the AAA World Tag Team titles at the WWE x AAA World’s Collide event.
Waller is obviously being a heel and it was a fun little rant overall. His objective about getting rid of Lucha Libre wrestling hasn’t been played on television, but perhaps the company will move forward with it if The New Day win the AAA belts on Friday.
Waller has been in the news a lot lately, with him making headlines for smashing a fan’s phone on a RAW taping. He even talked about that during the same podcast and he had no regrets about what he did.
"I did that 100% on purpose," Waller said. "My favorite thing is... you know, they put it on Instagram and I was reading through the comments, and all the comments were like, 'I've watched WWE Unreal. It is a plant. It is not a real fan. Works for WWE.' And I'm dying, because I know that's a real fan."
He continued, "That guy put his phone in harm's way. Woods took it, and I stepped on it. We didn't organize that. That's not going to end up on WWE Unreal. That guy's going home with a great story and a broken phone. If you're at a WWE show, be careful—because it might happen again."
