Zelina Vega has certainly evolved since making her WWE debut in 2018.
From manager to her star making performance at Backlash 2023, the former United States Champion has certainly grown throughout the years. But so has the women’s division as a whole. Evolution II just came and many consider it to be the best WWE show of the year thus far. The U.S. and I.C. titles were also introduced.
Zelina Vega spoke about the changes that's happened throughout her career to Robbie and Carley in a new interview, while she highlighted winning the Queen of the Ring to recently fighting Giulia, who’s one of her favorite opponents so far.
“Oh, that’s such a well said thing, because to be honest, I didn’t even know, even when I was the first Queen Of The Ring, I didn’t think there were many firsts left at that point. So to say that I have that is insane, but I feel like they find ways to continue making first ever. So it’s just, it’s so cool to see it evolve and it’s just, WWE is such a cool melting pot of all these beautiful cultures and people and backgrounds obviously with you know martial arts and just there’s there’s so many different people that bring something new to the table so I just love to see like even now I’m like I have so many other people that i can wrestle now like I love wrestling Giulia, like she became somebody like you’re one of my favorite opponents like I had so much fun wrestling her, I haven’t gotten to wrestle Stephanie yet so there’s there’s a bunch of people that I still get to look forward to to working with but maybe Rhea kinda has a top spot.”
It may be a while before Zelina works with Stephanie since she’s on Smackdown. However, the former United States Champion is clearly going in a new direction these days since she helped her husband Aleister Black beat former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest last week on Smackdown. It should be interesting to see how that pairing works. If it’s anything like her pairing with Andrade during his NXT days then we’ll in for a memorable run.
Check out the full interview where Robbie and Carley also talk to Black and the couple discusses their marriage, working in WWE for over five years, and so much more!
