Goldberg Has His Sights Set On At Least A Couple More Opponents In WWE
All signs point to Bill Goldberg's recent WWE run being his last, but now the former Universal Champion reveals that he still has a couple of Superstars in mind when it comes to who he'd face next...
There's no denying that Goldberg's WWE return was a success, but the former WCW Champion wasn't exactly at his best physically. Sure, he could pull off brief matches like the ones we saw at Survivor Series and WrestleMania, but anything more than that became a tad embarrassing due to him sweating profusely and getting blown up real fast.
Even so, there are a lot of wrestling fans who would love to see Goldberg return to WWE after his apparent retirement and in a new interview with Wrestling Inc., he revealed that there are at least two current Superstars he'd enjoy being given the chance to square off with.
"There’s so much young talent there that have the possibility of being the next superstar. Obviously, the guy with the big push now is Braun Strowman, but unfortunately he is hurt. Great kid and a great work ethic, obviously great character. I would be remiss that stepping in the ring with Roman Reigns wouldn’t be fun. There are a lot of guys of being worthy to be getting their ass kicked by me; at the end of the day, there are a lot of great people to leave this business with. I think the stars of the future are right on the cusp of breaking out. There is a plethora of talent ready to be the next big thing."
Goldberg squared off with both of them not too long ago in a segment which concluded with Goldberg and Reigns delivering a memorable double spear to Strowman.
Unfortunately, it's hard to imagine how either wrestler would benefit from a match with Goldberg unless Vince McMahon and WWE officials think it would be a good idea to have Reigns take him down the same way Lesnar did before the two square off at next year's WrestleMania. We're going to have to wait and see!
