Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar's feud reached its end at SummerSlam when the American Nightmare scored a decisive win over The Beast.
At the end of the match in what we've since heard was an unscripted segment, Lesnar shook Rhodes' hand and embraced him, showing a rare sign of respect to his opponent while raising his arm before cheering fans. Was that an official babyface turn?
It's certainly a good excuse to bring the former WWE Champion back as a firm fan-favourite but there are those who believe Lesnar was passing the torch and potentially leaving WWE. Well, for now at least.
According to Bryan Alvarez, Brock won't be taking a lengthy hiatus from WWE, with Dave Meltzer chiming in to confirm he's currently scheduled for WWE Fastlane on October 7.
"He’s advertised for Fastlane," the historian and insider confirmed. "So I don't know if that's when he returns. He's not gonna be gone for a little while, is what I was told, but not a long while. Whatever that means."
It will be fun to see who Lesnar's next opponent is and it seems likely The Beast will score a win over whoever he faces after taking two losses to Rhodes.
Lesnar remains an incredibly important part of WWE and one of its biggest draws. With that in mind, we're sure to see more of him both this year and as we head into WrestleMania season. After all, there's speculation he was enlisted by Paul Heyman to take Rhodes out on Roman Reigns' behalf!
Stay tuned for updates as we have them.
