Last night's Wrestlepalooza was headlined by Cody Rhodes defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre. The American Nightmare emerged triumphant from the match, but his next opponent has already been revealed.
During the Wrestlepalooza post-show, Rhodes was interrupted by World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Later, Triple H confirmed that they will square off at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on October 11 to decide this year's Crown Jewel Champion.
Last year, Rhodes defeated Gunther to earn that accolade, and we can't help but wonder whether this means WWE is finally moving on from Rollins' feud with CM Punk.
Stephanie Vaquer, meanwhile, beat Iyo Sky at Wrestlepalooza to become the Women's World Champion, and her opponent at Crown Jewel will be decided after Tiffany Stratton defends the WWE Women's Championship against Jad Cargill and Nia Jax on this Friday's SmackDown.
Talking at the post-show, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque addressed Vaquer's recent absence from RAW.
"I’ll let everybody in on a behind-the-scenes secret with Stephanie," he shared. "In the last few weeks, Stephanie has been very sick. I don’t know all the details of what the flu-type thing going on, but she was very sick. It’s why she missed TV and why there was an odd build to it. She was able to feel well enough and get cleared medically to compete tonight."
Wrestlepalooza was a big show for WWE as the company's PLEs made the leap to ESPN from Peacock. The show opened with Brock Lesnar decimating John Cena, while The Vision emerged triumphant over The Usos.
As noted, Vaquer won her first main roster title, and the returning AJ Lee teamed with Punk to defeat Rollins and Becky Lynch. You can see Rhodes and Rollins' face-to-face confrontation in the X posts below.
