Much has been said about the possibility of backstage friction between WWE CCO Triple H and TKO board member Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
It appears the Final Boss inserting himself into various storylines (and even the odd WrestleMania main event) has come close to completely derailing The Game's creative plans, making him as big a nuisance as Vince McMahon following his supposed "retirement."
Fan backlash stopped The Rock from facing Roman Reigns at last year's WrestleMania. However, after he seemingly added himself to John Cena's heel turn, Johnson would later make some wild claims about ticket sales and went so far as to criticise how Cena's match against Cody Rhodes in Las Vegas was booked (after it received a largely negative response from fans).
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T is the latest to weigh in, acknowledging that it's a "testosterone-fueled business" and with "two alphas," clashes wouldn't be a surprise.
"Let me tell you right now, man," Booker T noted. "When you’re dealing in a testosterone-fueled business and dealing with a bunch of men, I’m sure there’s going to be some heat and some friction somewhere down the line."
"Then you got two guys like Triple H and The Rock. You got two alphas, man. I’m sure it’s going to be some headbutting here and there and again. So hey, man, I wouldn’t be surprised. Let’s just say that," the pro wrestling legend concluded.
During the same podcast, Booker T also weighed in on the chatter surrounding the latest wave of WWE releases:
"It didn’t catch me off guard at all. I’ve been a part of WWE now for a very, very long time, and every year, especially after WrestleMania, a list comes out, and guys get cut... getting released is something that’s been happening since I’ve been in this business at a certain time of the year.”
"Do you want to be on that list? Of course not, but this is a business, and that’s one thing that you better always keep in the back of your head that you might be getting let go sooner or later.” Booker T even shared his personal long-term mindset: “I’m gonna tell you right now. I’ve been planning to get that note for about 20 years. I’ve been preparing for what’s next knowing that they’re going to come to me one day and go, ‘Hey, Book, man, we appreciate everything you’ve done here, but we’re going a different route.'"
"That’s my advice to these young guys. Hopefully they are preparing for a moment like this, so they’ll be ready just to keep everything moving."
