Two injured WWE Superstars made their shocking returns at the WWE Elimination Chamber premium live event on March 1, 2025.
The first of the night was Jade Cargill, who hasn't been seen since she was taken out by a mystery assailant on the November 22, 2024 edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Cargill had been shown laying on top of a car backstage, and the past several months have danced around the idea that no attackers were known.
As a result of that attack, Bianca Belair was distracted and lost her Women's United States Championship Tournament match. She was also in a spot afterward where she would have had to relinquish the Women's Tag Team Championships, but rather than vacate it, Naomi stepped in and took Cargill's place as title-holder.
Recently, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis showed footage of Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in the loading dock area at the time, so the suspicion had been on them as the attackers, but they maintained their innocence.
It turns out that seems to be true, as Cargill appeared tonight at the start of the Women's Elimination Chamber match, immediately going after Naomi and beating her so badly that she had to be taken out and medically disqualified from competing.
Of course, the assumption is that Naomi was the attacker, while Bianca Belair came across completely confused and distressed about the situation, likely indicating she wasn't aware of it. More updates on that story as it develops.
Later in the night, during the Unsanctioned Match between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, Owens had scored the victory after a brutal battle, but hadn't had enough. He decided to continue to go after Zayn post-match, exposing the concrete floor and getting ready to do even more harm to his former best friend.
That is when Randy Orton made his surprise return, going after Owens to get back at him for the package piledriver The Prizefighter had given him on November 8th—the last time we saw The Viper.
Orton took out his former friend Owens with an RKO, and was temporarily going to do more damage to him with a steel chair, but decided to toss it to the side. Instead, he opted to gear up for his trademark punt kick, but before he was able to execute the deadly move, officials stepped in and blocked him. They rushed Owens to the back for safety, and an angry Orton took his frustrations out on the security team, giving three of them an RKO for their efforts.
