After leaving WWE, many wrestlers continue their careers by pretty much just getting by on watered down gimmicks they had while with the biggest professional wrestling company in the world. That hasn't been the case for Matt and Jeff Hardy, however, as their Broken Universe has proved to be one of the most innovative and attention grabbing ideas currently doing the rounds in any company.

Kicking off in TNA, the duo has now taken their Broken characters to the Indies and are currently signed with Ring of
Honor. In an interview with SEScoops, Jeff confirmed that their contract there is indeed short term, something sure to help continue building speculation that the Hardys will be in WWE before 2017 is over. He then went on to talk about the possibility of making that a reality.

"I would love to introduce the Broken Universe to WWE eventually. I think it would be huge. As far as character driven or just a fresh vibe in in the pro wrestling world, yeah I think eventually I’m sure I’m going to jump back into the solo dimension and I’d love to be the world champion again. In my career in WWE, if it works out, the whole Hall of Fame and all that stuff. It started there and I’d like to end there. For now, I’m just having a blast doing the indies and I love the Broken Universe stuff with Matt, I think it’s the best thing he’s ever done. It’s just hard to keep a straight face around him at times, but he can be serious and make sense in a weird way, it’s just so fun. I hope it lasts as long as it can."

Jeff also said that the team's currently legal battle with Impact Wrestling over the rights to the Broken Universe is "very heartbreaking" after he spent seven years with the company.

That's also something which could complicate their return to WWE, but it now sounds like both parties are interested, so this could happen sooner rather than later. What do you think?
