Two matches have been added to the lineup for the upcoming WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 39 special show, as announced on WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
R-Truth was interviewed by Wade Barrett about what went down at WWE Backlash, wherein not only did R-Truth interfere in John Cena's match gainst Randy Orton to stop Orton from punting Cena, which ultimately was a means to help Cena retain the Undisputed WWE Championship, but afterward, at the press conference, Cena put R-Truth through a table with an Attitude Adjustment.
R-Truth refuses to acknowledge that Cena has turned heel, speaking about how motivational The Franchise Player has been over the years with his messages of hustle, loyalty, and respect, as well as making sure your time is now. If Cena could do it, anyone could do it, and R-Truth even went so far as to say that Cena won the match fair and square, disregarding his interference.
R-Truth said that if he needs to beat some sense back into Cena, then he's going to do it at Saturday Night's Main Event, as the two are now booked for a match for the Undisputed WWE Championship on that show.

In a pre-taped promo segment, Damian Priest also announced that he wants to end things between he and Drew McIntyre, and that a regular match won't be able to suffice. Instead, they will battle it out inside a steel cage to act as their feud-ending fight. Later on, McIntyre cut an in-ring promo to basically say the same about how he's going to end Priest next week.
These two matches join the two other previously announced matches to most likely round out the card, as it's unlikely WWE puts five matches on this two-hour broadcast.
As a reminder, WWE Saturday Night's Main Event XXXIX airs Saturday, May 24, 2025 on NBC and Peacock in the United States and Netflix elsewhere, starting at 8 p.m. ET.
To recap, here is the currently advertised lineup for the WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 39 card:
- Undisputed WWE Championship Match: John Cena (c) vs. R-Truth
- World Heavyweight Championship Match: Jey Uso (c) vs. Logan Paul
- CM Punk and Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker
- Steel Cage Match: Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre
