Plenty of people are talking about Karrion Kross.
It’s been barely a week since the former NXT Champion was released from the company and the world is still buzzing about the shocking departure. The events leading up to Kross’ exit were rather strange, such as WWE only giving Kross 24 hours to sign a new deal and the company outright ignoring the “We Want Kross” chants.
But Kross ensures everyone that the release is not a work. However, not everybody is convinced. That’s where Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows come in. Though the guys don’t particularly have much opinion on whether this is a work or not, the key component is the shady tactics that WWE used in trying to get Kross to re-sign.
It didn’t seem like the company cared too much if the 40-year-old put pen to paper, despite Kross proving to be a draw for WWE. The former WWE stars equate the situation to their own and note that if you’re not one of their guys then WWE won’t care too much about you.
“It was a very different time, and we tried, we definitely tried,” Anderson said (per Fightful). “Trust me, guys, we tried. When I was the NEVER Openweight Champion, there could have been so much stuff we could’ve done.”
He continued, “Sometimes, when you’re just not a chosen one, and I don’t mean that in a way… you can fight through walls, I’m just saying. When you’re just not one of their guys, you’re just not one of their guys. No matter what.”
Anderson and Gallows were released from the WWE twice. Gallows was released three times since he originally came in the promotion in 2007 as Festus.
The former WWE Tag Team Champions were under both Vince and Triple H’s runs and it didn’t seem that either of them understood what to do with the tag team without AJ Styles by their side. Which is a shame since The Good Brothers were a great addition to the tag team division.
Could we see Kross back in WWE?
There’s always a possibility, but Kross didn’t wrestle much in 2025. Though he was on RAW on a weekly basis, he only had five 5 matches on RAW, Smackdown, or a PLE. Despite Triple H pushing Kross hard during his NXT days, it doesn’t appear that he’s one of the guys either. Nevertheless, Karrion Kross is making waves down on the independent scene so he’s financially set for life.
