Kevin Owens Breaks Silence On Hitting Cody Rhodes With A Piledriver At SATURDAY NIGHT'S MAIN EVENT

WWE has shared an injury update on Cody Rhodes after Kevin Owens hit him with a Piledriver during Saturday Night's Main Event, and the Prizefighter has now shared his response to what went down at the PLE.

Saturday Night's Main Event ended with Cody Rhodes retaining the Undisputed WWE Championship after hitting Kevin Owens with a Cross Rhodes on the steel chair the heel had brought into the ring moments before.

It was an unexpected way for a babyface to retain their title and KO retaliated by getting back into the ring and hitting the American Nightmare with a Piledriver.

Since then, WWE has announced, "Earlier today it was confirmed that [Cody Rhodes] suffered cervical swelling and was kept overnight at a local hospital for observation. While X-Rays were negative for a fracture, Rhodes has been officially diagnosed with axial compression of the cervical spine, as well as a cervical strain with spasm."

Owens got into a physical altercation with Triple H after attacking Rhodes and has now taken to X to justify his actions.

"After getting screwed out of becoming the Undisputed WWE Champion by incompetent referees, Kevin Owens justifiably gets retribution on The American Person with an often imitated, never truly duplicated, PACKAGE PILEDRIVER just moments after Saturday Night’s Main Event goes off the air to send everyone home happy," he said in one post.

KO then shared another reading, "Upon leaving gorilla, Triple H enthusiastically thanks Kevin Owens for the house and tells him how proud he is of Kevin for doing what needed to be done and taking what he truly deserves and proceeds to invite him over to his house for Christmas dinner and to watch #SNME back on a 734 inch tv."

The feud has generated an interesting response from fans, with many arguing that Owens is the babyface in this scenario. Unless WWE plans to turn Rhodes heel, how the company books this storyline moving forward will be key in ensuring fans don't turn on him.

After all, with comments like these, it's becoming increasingly difficult not to root for the heel in his quest to take Rhodes' WWE Championship.
