Kevin Owens fires back at Matt Riddle.
Unfortunately, the former WWE Universal Champion has been pulled from WrestleMania 41. He was supposed to face Randy Orton at the huge event, but the 40-year-old has been sidelined with a serious injury.
However, before all of those events transpired, Owens sad down for an interview and surprisingly responded to a former employer. Last month, Matt Riddle stated on the Going Ringside podcast that the former Universal Champion and Sami Zayn were hard to work with.
"But, then when I think about who’s harder to maybe work with, I would have to say Sami Zayn or Kevin Owens… It’s hard to put a complete sentence together with those guys if you know what I’m saying…"
Now Matt wasn’t particularly trying to bash these two as he’s stated in the past that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are generally nice people, but the claim of them being hard to work with was strictly based on a professional level. Owens responded to Riddle on My Mom’s Basement and he didn’t hold back in his response.
“It’s funny coming from him, I have nothing against him at all but you know, to me, he’s a guy who had really amazing opportunities handed to him like being Randy’s tag partner, and basically getting to ride the coattails of a legend, and he managed to screw it all up, not because of his abilities, but because of his own attitude and poor choices. So for him to say we’re hard to work with and he couldn’t get a word in….there is a pretty good reason for that. You look at our track record and his track record, I think that speaks for itself.”
Ouch. Riddle has yet to respond to Owens' statement. He’s currently focused on holding it down for Major League Wrestling. There’s truth to Kevin’s response, though it was surprising that he even addressed the statement. It sucks that Kevin Owens will likely be out for the rest of the year, but hopefully, Canada's favorite export comes back stronger than ever.
