The New Day isn’t happy with Rey Mysterio.
This past Monday, WWE was in Kofi Kingston’s hometown of Boston, but Kingston and Xavier Woods never got the chance to go out in front of the crowd and explain their actions. That’s because Xavier and Kofi were exiled from the WWE locker rooms, thanks to the locker room leader, Rey Mysterio.
Now the former Intercontinental Champion is blaming the WWE Hall of Famer for not being able to address the crowd like they wanted to.
This seems to indicate that Xavier and Kofi’s first feud will be against Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee. It would be great to see these two teams mix it up as it allows for Xavier and Kofi to really showcase their new heel personalities. Of course, it hasn’t been confirmed that LWO will be feuding with The New Day, but all signs point to that direction. Mysterio has been lingering around the mid-card for some time now, so it would be great to get him into something with substance again.
Big E still hasn't commented on the shocking betrayal from Xavier and Kofi. The former WWE Champion has posted on social media since their tenth anniversary segment, but mainly to promote his new Peacock series, Laid, and a nice tribute to Brodie Lee on his birthday. That’s unlikely to happen since WWE probably wants his response to be on television.
Nevertheless, it should be interesting to see what happens next week. WWE has spent the past two weeks showcasing the locker room shunning the duo for their heinous actions. As of now, Kofi and Xavier aren’t advertised to wrestle next week.
Neither are Rey and Dragon Lee. However, the New Day are slated to have promo time on the RAW show. Next week’s event looks stacked with a rematch between Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre and a Triple Threat Women’s Intercontinental Title tournament match. The second to last RAW before 2025 should be a great one! Let’s hope that Kofi and Xavier actually get a chance to speak next week.
