Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods’ heel turn is off to a rocky start.
That’s because the fans in Wichita, Kansas refused to let them speak. Following the shocking heel turn that saw Kofi and Xavier turn their backs on Big E, The New Day duo came out to explain their actions a week before. But the fans weren’t haven’t any of it.
Kofi and Xavier were getting nuclear heat from the crowd and they got so frustrated that they left the ring without explaining themselves. Kofi is very disappointed in the WWE Universe as he feels that he has a good explanation for what he did:
Big E has been quiet on social media since the drama with him and The New Day unfolded. These guys were together for ten years. Not many tag teams in WWE can say that. The New Day formed in July 2014 and took the division over by storm.
The group struggled to get over at first, but once they turned heel, it allowed them to showcase their personalities and accidentally get over with the fans as babyfaces. The New Day won the tag team titles seven times throughout their careers. Plus, they’ve had epic feuds against The Shield, The Wyatt Family, and The Uso’s.
But the New Day’s situation took a downturn when Big E was seriously injured in 2022. Kofi and Xavier just weren’t able to reach the same levels of success. That’s been especially true in the past couple of months where they’ve been losing left and right to nearly every tag team on the roster. The final straw was the quick loss to Alpha Academy. It seemed that it was the end for Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston, but the duo swerved everyone last Monday night.
There’s no word on what the future holds for Big E. He hasn’t been cleared to compete, so he’s likely stuck at doing WWE pre-shows for now. On the other hand, it should be interesting to see how fans react to Kofi and Xavier on next week’s RAW. Will they also give them Dominick Mysterio treatment? We’ll find out!
