On June 16, RAW opened with Liv Morgan demanding that IYO SKY hand over the Women's World Championship. Unfortunately, when she faced Kairi Sane later that evening, the fan-favourite Judgement Day member was almost immediately injured.
It seems the plan was for Morgan and SKY to face off at an upcoming PLE (Night of Champions, Saturday Night's Main Event, Evolution 2, and SummerSlam were all on the horizon at the time). WWE also seemed to be setting up a match with Nikki Bella—likely for the Women's Tag Team titles—following their clash the previous Monday.
Specific details about Morgan's possible return have been few and far between—we know her injury was a dislocated shoulder—but she was on hand for Thursday's premiere of Stranger Things' fifth and final season, and looked as stunning as ever.
Tudum managed to catch a few words with the WWE Superstar and asked Morgan if she's likely to be back in weeks or months. "I think that everyone’s just going to have to watch me," she teased.
Doing her bit for corporate synergy, Morgan hyped up Netflix's Stranger Things by saying, "Every single time Eleven gets knocked down, she comes back stronger and more powerful than ever. She is the most iconic. She’d be the best tag team partner because I wouldn’t have to lift a finger. She would do everything for me."
When the interviewer wondered which WWE Superstar she thinks can take down a Demogorgon, Morgan backed Dominik Mysterio. "He's the WWE Intercontinental Champion and the AAA Mega Champion, he can kind of do anything."
Recent reports suggested that Morgan is expected to return at the start of 2026. However, if her physical rehabilitation continues ahead of schedule, then it may happen sooner. Multiple sources in WWE are said to be "very excited" about her eventual return, suggesting big creative plans are in place.
We're hearing rumblings that the goal for Morgan is to have her make a surprise comeback at the Royal Rumble PLE scheduled for January 31, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Outside of WWE, the trial for Morgan's alleged stalker, Shawn Chan, is scheduled to begin in Florida this month. The WWE Superstar also has Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo on the way; the movie is scheduled for a tentative Summer 2026 release.
