Mystery Opponent Teased In John Cena Tournament, Next Week's SmackDown Lineup

Two matches for John Cena's Last Time is Now tournament, as well as the new women's champion in action. That's what you've got going on for next week's SmackDown. But who will LA Knight face??

The next episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown is set to go down at the MVP Arena in Albany, New York on November 14, 2025, and there are three matches announced for this show—though one of them still doesn't have one of the participants revealed.

It was previously announced at Saturday Night's Main Event that John Cena's final opponent (scheduled for the next Saturday Night's Main Event, going down on December 13, 2025) would be determined in a tournament featuring 16 wrestlers from Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and outside the company. On this week's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, there was a segment where Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced four of the participants in that tournament, declaring that he had picked Rusev vs. Damian Priest and Sheamus vs. Shinsuke Nakamura out of the gold tumbler previously used over the years to pick numbers in the Royal Rumble match. Pearce said that SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis would be announcing the next two matches, and that did in fact happen on SmackDown, but not quite all the way.

There was a backstage segment where R-Truth wanted to get his name in the mix, handing his two balls to Aldis for a comedic spot. Later, Aldis revealed three names, stating that The Miz will face Jey Uso next week on SmackDown, and that LA Knight will be up against...someone else.

Instead of saying who, Aldis just said he's going to keep that surprise to himself for now, meaning WWE wants to keep the mystery going and have fans speculate for another week over who that might be.

Also scheduled for next week's episode of SmackDown will be Jade Cargill in action against B-Fab, after the two had a confrontation backstage on tonight's show. B-Fab wasn't a fan of Cargill's new attitude after winning the WWE Women's Championship and how she was bullying her, Michin, Chelsea Green, and Alba Fyre into moving out of her way. Cargill was quick to hear these comments and get in B-Fab's face about fighting her next week.

This brings the lineup for next week's episode of SmackDown to the following:

  • The Last Time is Now Tournament Round 1 Match: LA Knight vs. TBA
  • The Last Time is Now Tournament Round 1 Match: The Miz vs. Jey Uso
  • Jade Cargill vs. B-Fab

Who do you think LA Knight's opponent will be? What are your thoughts on the other matches? Drop your predictions in the comments below!
