Naomi has won the Women's World Championship after inserting herself into the main event of WWE Evolution 2025 to make Iyo Sky versus Rhea Ripley a Triple Threat match, pinning Sky to capture the title in a shocking main event!

How did this go down tonight, what led to this, and what could be on the horizon? Let's break it all down!

How We Got Here:

Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky are no strangers to one another, as they've wrestled either against each other or as teammates over a dozen times since their initial encounter at the 2018 Mae Young Classic tournament. In each of those matches, any time they've been opponents, Sky has walked out the victor every single time outside of two draws. Ripley has never been able to beat Sky, which was the story heading into this match.

Most recently, Sky had defeated Ripley to win the Women's World Championship on the Road to WrestleMania 41 and retained the title against The Eradicator and Bianca Belair on The Grandest Stage of Them All. But there has always been a mutual respect between the two, and when Sky was given the opportunity to choose her opponent for Evolution, she opted to pick Ripley for another go-around.

Meanwhile, Naomi won this year's Money in the Bank briefcase and is on the SmackDown roster, but nobody saw this coming for her to step in here and do this.

Match Details:

The best way to explain this is that Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley were having a banger match that you should definitely go back and check out, rather than for me to explain move by move, as it wouldn't do it justice. But when it finally got to the point that it seemed like it would end, that's when Naomi came out and stole the title.

Personal Reactions & What Happens Next?:

This is a very interesting situation. I had just assumed Rhea Ripley would finally get her win over Iyo Sky and things would reset to what they were with the Raw women's division going back to where it was at the beginning of 2025, but with less Superstars available on the roster to pair up with Ripley. Nearly everyone is either injured or has already feuded with Ripley so often that I would have been curious what WWE had planned for SummerSlam anyway. Throwing Naomi into the mix like this REALLY surprised me, as I just assumed she would be in the SmackDown scene to keep feuding with Jade Cargill.

I can assume Naomi will face either Iyo or Rhea in a rematch, and that there's still a chance this all goes back in that direction. But actually, I think Stephanie Vaquer could be the next way to go, considering she has a title shot already locked in for WWE Clash in Paris. Maybe there really will be a draft coming up, too.

Tell us what you think about this title change by leaving a comment below! Who do you think will be the next in line to challenge for the title, or possibly even win the belt next? Keep the discussion going!
